Assurance Advisor

Overview

The Assurance Advisor will hold a formal auditing qualification, preferably for ISO 27001 and/or ISO 9001, and will deliver internal assurance audits across Atkins

Réalis. They are responsible for ensuring audits are conducted in line with Atkins

Réalis Internal Quality Audit Procedure and Management System, are appropriately planned, executed, documented and closed out within their accountability. They are an integral part of the Atkins

Réalis Global Audit Program and are expected to highlight service improvements and inform improved processes to enable better business performance. The Assurance Advisor will work closely with auditee(s) (typically project managers) from preparation, through audit delivery, raising non‑conformances, to closing out findings and sharing lessons learned, raising awareness of the Company Management System requirements, Regional Procedures and helping drive a quality culture.

• Ensure audits are conducted in line with Atkins
  
  Réalis Audit Procedure and Management Systems and support teams through external audits by 3rd parties including accredited bodies and clients.
• Ensure audits, within their responsibility, are appropriately planned, executed, documented and closed out.
• Act as an integral part of the Audit Program, highlighting service improvements and informing improved processes.
• Follow internal Assurance (Quality and Security) audit procedures for planning, delivery and follow‑up.
• Check audits performed by other Assurance Team auditors.
• Deliver green, amber and red risk audits, process audits and verification audits within defined KPIs set by the UK & Ireland Operations and Improvements Manager.
• Support an auditee in closing out findings.
• Provide enhanced understanding of the Management System to Auditees.
• Participate in internal improvement projects associated with audit findings, management review and business change as directed by the UK&I Operations and Improvements Manager.
• Maintain confidential treatment of records and information accessed as an auditor.
• Act as a mentor and coach to developing Internal Auditors.
• Lead or support the delivery of Root Cause Analysis where required.
• Participate and contribute to the UKI Operations Team Operations Plan.
• Promote and embed a strong quality culture within Atkins

• Interpret and present audit reports to management when required.
• Perform such other duties as the supervisor may deem necessary.
• Present data in written and presentation form to various levels of management.
• Provide professional quality advice to support the business in delivering excellence.

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, facilities management, construction management, business management, engineering or technical field required, plus auditing experience in delivery, checking and review.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience conducting audits on consultancy and design projects, preferably in an engineering consultancy environment.
• Knowledge and experience of auditing to a management system aligned to ISO standards.
• Hold a recognized, external audit qualification/certification aligned to internal auditing, ISO 27001 and/or ISO 9001.
• Organised, articulate and analytical.
• Excellent communicator, able to quickly build strong relationships and trust.
• Detail oriented, able to structure reports to meet business needs and prioritise and present conclusions in a compelling way.
• Able to process large volumes of information, identify and differentiate critical information.
• Active listener, using sound question techniques.
• Strong relationship builder, able to influence at all levels to ensure business engagement and support in implementing improvements.
• Not afraid of making decisions, works autonomously and takes initiative.
• Experience using root cause analysis techniques (8D, 5 why).
• Self‑starter who manages own time and seeks to add value to tasks or functions.
