We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to conduct research into lunar samples within the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences under the direction of Professor Katherine Joy and Dr. Joshua Snape. The position is funded by an STFC Consolidated Grant and a Royal Society University Research Fellowship. You can find out more about the research group at

• Investigate the petrological and chronological evolution of lunar rocks.
• Employ electron beam, ICP-MS, petrological modelling codes and experimental petrology techniques to study crystallisation pathways and emplacement histories of lunar ancient evolved magmatic rocks.
• Analyse quantitative data from geological and extra‑terrestrial samples.

• PhD in Geology, Earth Sciences, Planetary Science or related discipline (or expected within 12 months).
• Publication track record commensurate with academic experience.
• Experience in a research laboratory and quantitative analyses of geological or extra‑terrestrial samples.
• For applicants who are not an EEA national or a national of an exempt country and who will require sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route, an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) Certificate must be obtainable before visa application.
