About the Role

We are looking for talented Software Engineers to join our growing team in Manchester. You'll be part of a high-performing engineering group, doubling in size to meet the demands of exciting modernisation projects. This is a hands‑on role where you'll design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable applications while driving innovation in cloud and search technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new features and resolve defects with a focus on quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver high-quality applications.
  • Share knowledge and mentor colleagues, fostering technical growth within the team.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver robust technical solutions.
  • Contribute to modernisation efforts, including:
    • Migrating from Elasticsearch to Open Search
      .
    • Moving capabilities to AWS cloud
      .
    • Leveraging AI and machine learning to enhance search capabilities.
Essential Skills
  • AWS Solutions Architect Certification
    .
  • Strong experience with Linux
    , AWS
    , Elastic Search/Open Search
    , Terraform
    , and Dev Ops practices.
  • Proficiency in Java and Type Script/Java Script .
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Go
    , Rust
    , or Python
    .
  • Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of secure software development practices.
