Are you an experienced Airfreight Import Coordinator ready to take ownership of a key client portfolio in a dynamic, growing freight forwarding business? Our client, a well‑established international logistics company, is looking for a proactive and commercially minded professional to join their Airfreight Team.
The RoleReporting to the Airfreight Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of a dedicated nomination client base and for supporting internal business development teams. You will oversee shipments from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and outstanding service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Airfreight Manager and Import Supervisor to achieve departmental goals.
- Deliver excellent communication and service to existing clients, new clients, and internal teams.
- Develop long‑term, profitable relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Handle quotations, negotiate rates, and manage suppliers to maximise margins.
- Oversee airfreight shipments from booking to delivery, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Integrate new business smoothly into the service network.
- Support financial processes including invoicing, cost control, and profit monitoring.
- Identify and develop opportunities for new and existing trade lanes.
- Assist with urgent shipments or out‑of‑hours needs when required.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in airfreight imports.
- Fully customs entry and Descartes compliant.
- Strong commercial awareness with a focus on profit optimisation.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.
- A positive, can‑do attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Dangerous Goods certification.
- Customs‑related qualifications or accreditations.
- Relevant academic qualifications (GCSEs, A Levels, NVQs, or Degree).
