Class 2 Weekend Drivers

Freeway Recruitment are actively seeking Class 2 Home delivery Drivers Weekends only to work for their client who are a multi national DIY and building materials supplier covering the additional peak vehicles.

Drivers must be able to cover a number of area's around the North west.

Position - Class 2 driver

Pay
- Saturday - £23.13 per hour PAYE
Sunday - £30.84 per hour PAYE

Working week - Shifts available Saturday & Sundays

Start times
- Saturday - Between 7am and 11am
Sunday - 8am

Contracted Shift is 9 hours with a 1 hour break deducted.

Paid for a min of 8 hours per shift.

The role - Home delivery

You will be working in a double manned team , delivering Building and home DIY products to customers houses. Vehicles you will be using will either be 7.5 tonne or 10 Tonne box waggons with a tail lift. This role will be subject to 2 days training when you have successfully completed your first 40 hours.

The role itself will be to arrive on site on time , complete your 15 minute walk around and then help your porter or second driver load the vehicle with the runs for that day. The deliveries will involve both palleted and handball with some heavier than usual items expected.

You will be using their end to end digital delivery system for your deliveries and sat navigation, there will be an element of training on this to get you up to speed with using the system.

Normal deliveries can fluctuate from 10 to 15 per day with inter store collections and returns.

It is essential that as a driver you ensure the safety of goods , other road users and your own safety when loading up and driving the vehicle ,. You will also be delivering on customer facing service with your day to day to customers when out delivering.

For this role you must,

Have a full and valid Class 2 Licence and have held this for a minimum of 15 months with consistent experience operating a class 2 vehicle .

No more than 6 points on licence with no DR , DD , IN , CD or other endorsements that lead to a ban.

A full and valid Tacho card and an in date valid CPC Qualification with card.

Experience of working with in the home delivery sector would be an advantage although not essential.
