This program is designed for students currently pursuing an associate or technical degree, who have completed a portion of their curriculum, and will be completing their program after the coop / intern experience. It is not designed for graduates. The successful applicant should have a working knowledge of AC and DC circuits, electrical controls, and troubleshooting with and understanding of electrical schematics.

* Job Description:

**** Duties / Tasks:
** Duties at the surface coal mine will be wide and varied, based on needs of the operation.  These duties may include all or some of the following:
* Repair electrical mining equipment and facilities.
* Assist with electrical inspections on mine equipment.
* Work with different voltage electrical systems.
* Troubleshoot motor control circuits, PLC, and digital drive control systems.
* Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal environmental regulations.
* Other duties as assigned.

* Qualifications:

** Required* Enrolled in accredited electrical program and in good academic standing.
* Completed a portion of college in the associated field of study intents on completing the degree.
* Applicants need to have a valid driver’s license
* Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
* Able to work rotating shifts.

Must also successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and the applicable Job Function Test (JFT).External
