CAD​/CAM Programmer

JRS Associates have partnered up with an exciting engineering business to recruit a skilled CAD/CAM Programmer (EdgeCAM) to strengthen their programming team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced programmer with Mazak machining knowledge to join a highly respected manufacturing operation working on precision-engineered components.

The Successful CAD/CAM Programmer – Package:

* £17.70 – £21.24 per hour (including shift allowance)

* Days:
Monday–Friday, 5:30am – 2:00pm

* Afters:
Monday–Thursday, 2:00pm – 12:00am

The Successful CAD/CAM Programmer – Requirements:

* Proven experience as a CAD/CAM Programmer, ideally using EdgeCAM

* Strong background programming Mazak CNC machinery (Nexus, VTC, Integrex, Quick Turn etc.)

* Ability to create, modify and optimise CNC programmes for milling and/or turning

* Confident importing drawings/3D models and selecting the correct machining strategies

* Skilled in defining tooling, cutting data, work-holding and machining sequences

* Capable of running simulations and collision checks prior to production

* Able to work closely with CNC Setters/Operators during first-off inspections

* Strong understanding of CNC machining principles and tight-tolerance engineering

* Good problem-solving skills and the ability to support the shop floor

* Excellent documentation habits, including setup sheets and tooling lists

Desirable:

* Experience with Solid Works, Fusion 360, Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM tools

* Knowledge of fixture/jig design or tooling optimisation

* Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
