Position Overview

UP Vertical Farms is seeking a dependable and safety-minded professional to support the efficient transportation and logistics operations of our advanced indoor farming facility. The Class 1 Driver plays a key role in ensuring the timely and secure movement of produce, materials, and supplies between our production site, distribution partners, and customers. The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating Class 1 commercial vehicles, a strong commitment to road safety and compliance, and a professional approach to representing UP Vertical Farms in all business interactions.

This is an Auxiliary position within the Operations Department of UP Vertical Farms. The Class 1 Driver reports directly to the Operations Supervisor and works collaboratively with production, logistics, and warehouse teams to coordinate delivery schedules, manage shipping documentation, and uphold vehicle and load safety standards. Regular hours may include weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings, depending on delivery volumes and customer requirements.

The position involves operating Class 1 commercial vehicles in full compliance with federal and provincial transportation regulations, conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, loading and unloading goods, and maintaining accurate delivery and inspection records. The Class 1 Driver ensures that all products are handled safely, efficiently, and delivered in optimal condition. Additional responsibilities include assisting with logistics coordination, supporting warehouse operations as required, and fostering a workplace culture grounded in safety, reliability, and professionalism.

Work is performed in accordance with company policies, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and National Safety Code (NSC) standards, and Good Distribution Practices (GDP). The Class 1 Driver exercises considerable independence and judgment in planning routes, meeting delivery timelines, and resolving logistical challenges. Performance is evaluated by the Operations Supervisor based on safety record, incident record, delivery performance, and adherence to company and regulatory standards.
