Bookkeeper Full Cycle – Ridge Meadows Seniors Society
Classification:
Part time, 30 hours per week. Flexibility required. In office.
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the bookkeeper is responsible for performing all duties related to full cycle bookkeeping for two seniors centres.
Duties and Responsibilities- administer accounts payable and receivable.
- record day-to-day financial transactions and complete daily postings.
- bank, credit card and cash reconciliation.
- post and file deposits from gaming events.
- payroll preparation from payroll timesheets approved by the Executive Director.
- process payroll using ADP.
- administer all government remittances such as GST, PST, WCB, payroll deductions, T4s and Record of Employment forms.
- track staff vacation and sick time banks.
- reconciliation of bank and balance sheet accounts.
- completion of monthly financial statements and supplementary supporting statements for submission.
- monitor cash flow.
- administer grant accounts.
- assist Executive Director with Gaming Grant applications and reporting.
- prepare additional reports as requested by the Executive Director or Treasurer.
- preparation of year end financials for auditor.
- assist Executive Director and Finance Committee in the preparation of budget.
- track various grant and expense reports by project.
- prepare charity return & charitable receipts.
- 2 years or more of full cycle bookkeeping experience.
- understand basic accounting principles and practices.
- understand cost centre accounting.
- experience with Word, Excel and Outlook.
- experience with Book King software a bonus.
- experience with Quickbooks Desktop.
- open and eager to learn new concepts.
- able and willing to present new efficiencies and better ways to perform Bookkeeping when discovering something.
- ability to explain and discuss statement work with ED in an understandable way.
- working experience with ADP.
- experience working in a charity or non-profit organization preferred.
- ability to problem solve and collaborate with team.
- attention to detail.
- enjoy working with seniors.
