Job DescriptionWe are recruiting Engineering Apprentices! At Mller, we are proud to create some of the nation's favourite dairy products. This apprenticeship is based at our Market Drayton site.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join Mller Milk & Ingredients as an Engineer Apprentice. You will study towards a recognised qualification, earn a good salary, develop new skills, and gain invaluable experience.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Asset Management: keeping manufacturing machinery maintained, managing processes, filling/packing, and site cleaning operations.
- Involvement in continuous improvement projects, project management, and tests and trial activities.
- Fault finding and quick action to meet food safety standards.
- Being part of a team striving to achieve the highest quality products.
- Highlighting concerns and ensuring products or volumes meet the agreed requirements and targets.
- Electrical principles and maintenance.
- Mechanical maintenance to keep the factories running efficiently.
- Automation.
Programme:
The first year includes 20 weeks at North West Training Council (NWTC). From years 2–4, you spend 22 weeks with NWTC, and the remainder at Market Drayton to embed learning with our engineering experts.
- National 5s at band C or above in English & Maths, plus a science/technical subject.
- Able to demonstrate a clear passion for Engineering.
- Ability to take ownership of own work.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to work and studies.
- Flexible working hours upon completion of the apprenticeship including weekends and night shifts.
- Level 3 Food & Drink Maintenance Engineer Apprenticeship Certificate.
- Level 3 Diploma in Food & Drink Engineering.
There is also potential to progress onto a Level 6 Engineering Degree if you show the drive and enthusiasm.
Benefits- An annual salary of £18,500 with structured increases yearly.
- A full-time role of 40 hours per week.
