We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Gartree, a Category B men’s prison located in Market Harborough.
About this roleHours: The site currently offers 7 days a week service with shifts on rota.
Salary: This full‑time position offers an annual salary up to £29,723 per annum FTE, depending on experience.
Legal requirement: Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Your responsibilities will vary but may include:
- Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
- Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.
- Provide social support to patients

- NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
- A non‑judgemental and compassionate approach
- Good IT skills and IT literacy

- Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
