** Your Opportunity
** Our Markham office is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the Assurance team in our China Practice. In this role, you will leverage your assurance expertise and Mandarin language skills to support Chinese-owned and China-based businesses operating in Canada and expanding globally. Our bilingual professionals help clients navigate complex accounting frameworks and regulatory requirements while bridging cultural and language differences.
With a focus on audit and review engagements under ASPE and IFRS, you’ll gain exposure to private enterprises, entrepreneurial clients, and subsidiaries of global organizations, while contributing to their successful cross-border growth. In this role you will own the following responsibilities:
* Lead and conduct audit and review engagements under ASPE and IFRS, preparing working papers and financial statements in line with firm and regulatory standards.
* Manage engagements across industries such as financial services, real estate, manufacturing, and technology, coordinating closely with engagement teams.
* Build trusted client relationships in both Mandarin and English, serving as the key contact throughout the engagement.
* Supervise and review the work of juniors and offshore staff, providing coaching and guidance to ensure high-quality deliverables.
* Collaborate with Partners on proposals, presentations, and client pitches to support China Practice growth.
* Communicate proactively with teams to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery.

** Your experience and education
*** You have completed your CPA designation (or international equivalent, CPA Ontario-eligible).
* You bring minimum 3 years of external audit/assurance experience in public accounting, with strong knowledge of ASPE and IFRS.
* You have experience managing engagements from planning through completion, supervising staff, and reviewing deliverables.
* You are fluent in Mandarin and English (verbal and written). Ability to read and write in Chinese is considered an asset.
* You demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, and value inclusivity, teamwork, and delivering high-quality work.
