The RoleAMD is looking for a systems integration engineer to provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise to our growing team. As a key contributor, you will have a strong technical background and contribute to all aspects of the post-silicon development process. The AMD S3 Business Unit IP Systems Engineering team seeks an energetic, dynamic, experienced IP Systems Engineer to drive planning, pre‑silicon execution, validation, silicon bring‑up, and debug of AMD processor security sub‑systems.
The PersonYou are a highly motivated, hands‑on systems engineer with a strong development background, problem‑solving mentality, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and willingness to learn and adapt. Excellent teamwork skills and capability to lead a highly technical team is crucial.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in systems design development throughout the entire product lifecycle, from pre‑silicon and emulation through post‑silicon and software integration.
- Collaborate with Design, Software, Tools, and other teams to drive the definition of testing and debug methodologies to provide the best possible coverage and customer experience for the AMD IP.
- Isolation and debug of issues found in Security IP during pre‑silicon, bring‑up, validation, and production phases of S3 products.
- Publishing and aligning test plan requirements and dependencies.
- Driving and participating in technical innovations to enhance AMD’s validation capabilities, including tool and script developments, and technical and methodology enhancements.
- In‑depth knowledge of SOC architecture and concepts.
- In‑depth knowledge of Security hardware functions, signing, encryption, fusing, etc.
- Experience with FPGA and other hardware emulation platforms for pre‑silicon debug.
- Strong understanding of BIOS, OS, and driver‑level interactions and common failure points.
- Good understanding of boot flows/sequences.
- Strong programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, C/C++, Ruby).
- Experience with IP/System level bring‑up, SOC debug techniques and methodologies.
- Experience with common lab equipment, computer hardware, and networks.
- Knowledge of standard power management features and use‑cases.
- Prior, recent years of experience in pre‑ and post‑silicon validation in the semiconductor industry.
- Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly.
- Experience with IP/System level bring‑up, SOC debug techniques and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of BIOS, OS, and driver‑level interactions and common failure points.
- Strong analytical/problem‑solving skills and pronounced attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑starter, strong collaborator, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple issues at the same time.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field strongly preferred.
