Location:
Markham
The System Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the organization’s computer systems and servers. You will install hardware and software and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly administration tasksActive directory management & optimizationGroup policy configuration & deploymentServer build & configuration;
Advanced server admin knowledgePatch management – endpoint patching/critical updatesOffice – advanced knowledge of O AdministrationFormulate policy & process re technical administrationApplication supportProject executionImplementation – upgrades, migrations etc.Manage back-ups – daily back-up logging, monthly data restore testingDocumentation – build & maintain internal technical documentation, manuals, IT policies/proceduresDevelop expertise to train staff on new technologiesInventory – maintain hardware & software inventoryPrepare User Access Review (UAR) lists of key applications (Office users, VPN Users, Zoom users, Data Pine users, Server Room access, Adobe software users, Dropbox Users, etc.)Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experienceWorking knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalentStrong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocolsExperience with scripting and automation toolsStrong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocolsCertifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields
