Business Systems Analyst II – Guidewire Policy Center

The Business Systems Analyst II (BSA II) is an experienced individual contributor who leverages solid business and technical knowledge to deliver small and medium initiatives independently and supports large changes under guidance. The BSA II bridges business requirements and system limitations, proactively identifies opportunities for improvement, and ensures alignment of IT solutions with business objectives. This role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams, documenting requirements, and supporting the successful execution of projects within Policy Center.

What

You'll Do
  • Collaborate on planning, prioritization, and design of initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Analyze and define business problems, ensuring the project team maintains focus on core objectives.
  • Independently deliver small and medium initiatives; assist with large initiatives under the guidance of senior BSAs.
  • Work with project teams to define and manage project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Document business requirements and translate them into clear, actionable technical requirements.
  • Create, monitor, and review sprint plans, identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Organize and lead working sessions and project update meetings with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Support systems process analysis and needs assessments, identifying system limitations and proposing alternatives.
  • Identify project issues/roadblocks and recommend steps for mitigation and resolution.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for project and process improvements.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of BSA experience, preferably on Scrum teams.
  • Guidewire Policy Center Certification required; ACE Certification preferred.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master is an asset.
  • 3+ years’ experience in personal insurance; CIP preferred or strong insurance knowledge.
  • Commercial Insurance experience is an asset.
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer/business focus.
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability for deliverables.
  • Solid understanding of application workflows and system integrations.
  • Ability to independently translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Superior communication skills (formal and informal).
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Collaborative team player who engages in knowledge sharing and supports team performance.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and proactively manage priorities.
  • Process‑oriented approach to creating and maintaining project artifacts.
  • Agile mindset, adaptability, and resilience in the face of change.
What You'll Get
  • The salary band for this position ranges from $75,000 to $105,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
