Huawei Canada has an immediate 8-16-month Co-op opening for a Researcher role.

Research and develop state-of-the-art technology in computer vision and machine learning. Work on various video / image understanding and synthesis tasks using cutting-edge deep learning and computer vision techniques. Take into consideration the mobile computing constraints for the optimization of algorithms and machine learning models.

• Research and develop state-of-the-art technology in computer vision and machine learning.
• Work on video / image understanding and synthesis tasks using cutting-edge deep learning and computer vision techniques.
• Consider mobile computing constraints for the optimization of algorithms and machine learning models.

• Experience with applying machine learning or computer vision to real-world problems.
• Able to grasp basic computer vision concepts and techniques.
• Coding in Python, PyTorch or Tensor Flow (at least one).
• OpenCV, mobile app development, photo editing (e.g., Photoshop), image/video generation AI (e.g., Stable Diffusion) is an asset.
• Academic research experience (e.g., participation in paper publishing) is an asset.
