Mobile Home Care Worker

Overview

In general, you will travel to the residences of the service users in your care round and, at each visit, support them with the tasks as agreed with the service user in their Care and Support Plan. Your role will help maintaining, and wherever possible improving, the health, well-being and quality of life of our service users, supporting their physical, emotional, cultural and social needs in a person-centred way.

You will support service users to exercise choice in their daily lives, encourage them to remain as independent and socially active as possible, and provide dignified, respectful support.

You will build positive professional relationships with service users, their friends, family, main carers, advocates and other stakeholders, and work as part of a multi-agency team that will include other health professions. You must adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations on CEL Homecare as detailed in our policies, procedures and working practices, and work with, and actively support, other Mobile Home Care Workers in your local team.

You will help maintain the good name and professional reputation of CEL Homecare.

Further duties include:

• Attend and participate in regular staff group meetings, one-to-one staff supervision and appraisal sessions, and any residence-based monitoring or inspection by ourselves or outside commissioners and regulators.
• Attend internal and external training (mandatory or beneficial) as directed by our Registred Manager to support your role.
• Use the Care Management APP to electronically log in and out of each care call to ensure missed calls do not occur.
• Observe all health and safety laws and company rules, read risk assessments and associated guidance, and take reasonable care to promote the health and safety of yourself and others.
• Ensure all service users receive equal treatment and equal access to the services provided.
• Be accountable to the Registered Manager or their delegated deputies and undertake any other duties within the scope of the post.

Pay: £13 per hour

Shifts: Full-time and part-time hours are available;
Flexible shift patterns.

We provide personal care and domestic support to a range of service users with different needs, illnesses and disabilities. You will understand each service user’s needs and hoped-for outcomes and provide help using a person-centred approach and in the least intrusive manner. Tasks may include:

• Getting up in the morning and going to bed at night
• Washing, bathing, showering, dressing and undressing
• Maintaining skin, teeth, hair and nail health
• Taking them to the toilet and managing continence (including catheter care)
• Medication needs as per the Care and Support Plan
• Preparing food and drink based on personal choice, aware of nutritional needs and cultural requirements
• Light household duties, including cleaning and laundry, as detailed in the Care and Support Plan
• Using manual handling equipment safely to transfer service users and support mobility
• Managing the safe handling of property and equipment belonging to service users
• Providing companionship and engaging in activities the user enjoys
• Maintaining contact with family and friends
• Accompanying them to access the community
• Assisting with personal affairs (e.g., reading, writing, managing money, collecting pensions, shopping)
• Maintaining a clean, safe living space while respecting each individual’s choices and rights
• Immediately contacting appropriate emergency services when needed

As a CEL Homecare representative, you must dress appropriately, wear the correct uniform and use the PPE provided. You should be committed to life-long learning and help identify best practices and innovative ways to improve the quality of care we deliver. You will be expected to attend and participate in regular staff group meetings, supervision and appraisal sessions, and any residence-based monitoring or external inspections.

You will also be required to complete in-house and external training (mandatory or beneficial) as requested by our Registered Manager.
