The Clinical Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital (MHRH) is hiring a LOCUM General Obstetrician Gynecologist. MHRH is an acute care facility with a catchment population of approximately 110,000 and includes sub‑acute/restorative care. The hospital has 246 acute care beds, 30 geriatric beds, 10 ICU beds and 7 NICU bassinets. It is an accredited Level 3 Trauma Centre providing coverage in Pediatrics, Geriatrics, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ENT, Urology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery and Cancer services.

The Obstetrics & Gynecology Department serves the City of Medicine Hat and surrounding communities with specialized care in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. The obstetrical services include a Maternal‑Fetal Assessment clinic for high‑risk care and a low‑risk obstetrics program provided by local family physicians. Gynecology services currently include oncology and REI services.

The locum will provide full scope of practice as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist, supporting the current department with deliveries, C‑sections, gynecological surgeries and treatments. A 1:5 call schedule with a specialist on‑call stipend is included.

Applicants must have or be eligible for certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and be eligible for specialist registration for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
