We are looking for a collaborative and driven Facilities Engineer to join our team at the Empress Gas Complex
, located near Burstall, Saskatchewan — approximately 117 km north of Medicine Hat, Alberta.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys being close to operations, solving practical challenges, and working as part of a small, high-performing team that values collaboration and mutual respect.   • Responsibilities

  • Develop and stamp engineering documents, work packages, and site designs.
  • Provide technical support for maintenance, turnaround, and project execution activities.
  • Lead or support site safety, integrity, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with corporate teams on feasibility studies, design improvement, and project implementation.
  • Champion Management of Change (MOC) and Work Execution processes using Maximo.
  • Conduct root-cause and performance assessments to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Asset Integrity teams to deliver safe and efficient plant performance.
  • Participate in short-term secondments with Operations, Planning, or Maintenance to build integrated site experience.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility upon hire.
  • 5–10 years of experience in facility Operations, Maintenance, or Engineering. May consider Engineers-in-Training if site tasks are aligned with career aspirations.
  • Working knowledge of industry codes (ASME B31.1/31.3, ASME BPVC Section I/VIII, API, NACE, CSA, ABSA).
  • Familiarity with project management processes (PMP designation an asset, not required).
  • Prior operational experience and knowledge with turnaround practices are strong benefits.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based environment.
  • Previous experience in oil and gas processing or heavy industry is an asset.
  • Hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving is preferred.
