Ambulatory Care Receptionist – NHS Borders
Location: Borders General Hospital, Scottish Borders (Ambulatory Care Unit)
About the roleInternal vacancy open to current NHS Scotland staff only. The position is a receptionist covering the afternoon shift (1300‑1800) Monday to Friday, with additional cover during annual leave and sickness as needed.
Responsibilities- Welcome and register patients entering the unit.
- Handle day‑to‑day reception duties, including call answering and appointment booking.
- Use the BGH TRAK IT system for patient administration.
- Provide administrative support to the Ambulatory Care and Infusion Service team.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic IT proficiency; training in the BGH TRAK system will be provided.
- Ability to work flexibly, covering varied hours.
- Hours:
1300‑1800 Monday‑Friday; additional cover may be required
REQUISITIONỦ> - Contract:
part‑time/full‑time with a 37‑hour week, reduced to 36 hours from 1/4/26, with a corresponding hourly rate increase.
