An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and energetic professional to join the Gynaecology/Surgery team at Prince Charles Hospital. The Gynaecology/Surgery ward is part of the Planned Care Group and includes twenty beds, 4 trolleys, and a treatment room used for the Gynaecology Assessment Unit (GAU) and ambulatory care.

• Be responsible for the management of a group of patients, and occasionally take charge of the ward for the duration of your duty.
• Be responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care.
• Be responsible for ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Be responsible for the support and supervision of junior staff and students.
• Provide holistic care and advocacy to patients and their families.
• Work on your own initiative while being part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Develop relationships across professional and organisational boundaries.
• Access further study and opportunities to expand your role in line with service development.

The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a flexible approach to work. A commitment to delivering high standards of patient‑focused care is essential, along with time‑management and delegation skills. Welsh language skills are desirable at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above, but not essential.

The Health Board operates a number of shift systems, most commonly a 12.5‑hour shift inclusive of either one 30‑minute or two 30‑minute unpaid breaks. These patterns are subject to review, and the Board reserves the right to change working arrangements.
