Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Manufacturing Engineer is a hands‑on role responsible for improving manufacturing processes, productivity, quality, cost, and overall operational performance. This role independently owns improvement initiatives, technical problem solving, process optimization, and project execution while partnering with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and shop‑floor employees to deliver sustainable, measurable results.
POSITIONDESCRIPTION:
Identify and execute manufacturing improvements that increase productivity, throughput, quality, safety, and cost performance.
- Own improvement projects from problem identification through implementation, validation, and sustainment.
- Work directly on the manufacturing floor to solve recurring problems, remove bottlenecks, and improve process flow.
- Use data and structured problem solving to convert improvement opportunities into measurable operational and financial results.
What you need to be successful
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Manufacturing experience with hands‑on process improvement and problem solving.
- Fabrication, machining, CNC, welding, assembly, tooling, or fixtures experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
Own the outcome
Take responsibility for assigned improvements from initial problem definition through implementation and sustained results. Maintain strong follow‑through and accountability for commitments, actions, and project deliverables.
Act with urgencyMove from analysis to action. Test practical solutions, remove barriers, and maintain momentum while balancing safety, quality, cost, and operational needs.
Communicate and collaborateWork effectively with operators, supervisors, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and leadership. Communicate technical issues clearly, listen to the people doing the work, and build alignment around solutions.
Work from the floorSpend time where the work occurs to understand the current condition, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions that can be implemented and sustained by the operation.
Manufacturing Process ImprovementEvaluate existing manufacturing processes and implement improvements that increase safety, quality, productivity, throughput, capacity, and cost performance. Identify waste, constraints, variation, and recurring operational issues.
Project OwnershipLead manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects from opportunity identification through implementation, validation, and sustainment. Establish clear objectives, actions, milestones, expected impact, and completion dates.
Technical Problem SolvingLead structured root‑cause investigations for manufacturing issues involving equipment, tooling, quality, productivity, labor, or process performance. Develop countermeasures, verify effectiveness, and prevent recurrence.
Fabrication and CNC OptimizationImprove fabrication, machining, CNC, assembly, and related manufacturing processes through setup reduction, cycle‑time improvement, tooling optimization, process refinement, and improved methods.
Tooling, Fixtures and EquipmentDevelop, modify, and improve tooling, fixtures, equipment, layouts, and manufacturing methods to improve repeatability, ergonomics, flow, quality, and operational performance.
Labor, Flow and CapacityAnalyze labor, production, downtime, throughput, scrap, quality, and capacity data to identify constraints and improvement opportunities. Improve labor utilization, material flow, machine utilization, and available capacity.
Standard Work and SustainmentDevelop and maintain standard work, work instructions, process documentation, and visual controls. Partner with…
