Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Engineer to join our clients team in Middlesbrough. The ideal candidate will have proven sales experience, strong technical knowledge (or be willing to learn), and excellent communication skills to drive sales and support our clients effectively.
As the UK Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving business growth by combining strong technical expertise with consultative sales capability. This role acts as a technical interface between customers, sales and engineering teams supporting specification, selection and application of industrial valve solutions, while developing long-term customer relationships across the UK.
Our client provides industrial valve products and services across Teesside and the wider UK. They specialise in delivering complete valve solutions, including sales, installation, maintenance and repair services to customers operating in oil and gas, power generation, chemical and many other manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve company targets and expand the client base.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned region.
- Provide technical support and expertise to clients, ensuring they understand product specifications and capabilities.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to demonstrate product features and benefits.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to address customer requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to maximise profitability.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and forecasts using CRM software.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote company products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proven sales experience in a technical or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical products.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel as required.
