Job Purpose
Manage and oversee the tendering and bid process for technical projects, especially those involving electrical systems, power distribution, and large engineering contracts.
This role blends technical knowledge, project coordination, commercial strategy, and leadership to ensure that proposals or tender submitted comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies. Primary role is to ensure that the bid submission adheres to specifications and to secure contracts and manage proposals from start to finish while meeting the client's technical and financial requirements. Produces and delivers compliant, competitive and compelling bids/proposals/tenders to customers
Required Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- National Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Business Administration or Electrical/ Mechanical or Civil Engineering?
- National Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic Engineering (Advantage)
- APMP - Association of Proposal Management Professionals (Advantage)
- Driver’s License & Own Vehicle
Required Experience
- 5-8 years administering tenders in an Electrical Engineering or Construction Environment or related field.
- 3-5 years supervising a team within a bid’s/tender environment (Tender Bid cycle start to Finish).
- Experience in developing leads and researching potential clients.
- Experience in reading and analysing requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for quotation (RFQs).
Required Knowledge
- Ability to implement budgetary and cost-control measures with solid negotiation and persuasive skills.
- Coordinating bid processes, effective communication for drafting proposals and liaising with stakeholders, strategic thinking to align bids with organizational goals
- Familiarity with relevant software, including Microsoft Office.
- A very good knowledge of Electrical Engineering Products and services
- Responding to RFQ, RFP, RFI
- A good understanding of cost estimation and financial matrices.
- General tender/contractual processes, requirements, and terminology
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and manipulating calculations.
- Basic understanding of technical & financial concepts
