About the Role We are seeking a Mechanical Draughts person to join our Mechanical Engineering Department. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with a passion for mechanical design and a desire to grow within a professional engineering environment. You will assist senior draughtsmen and engineers in developing accurate 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, and layouts for a variety of mechanical equipment and fabricated components.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and updating detailed 3D models and technical drawings for mechanical equipment and fabricated components.
• Support the preparation of machining, assembly, and fabrication drawings for industrial fans, vessels, and related parts.
• Help generate material take-off lists (MTOs) and ensure bill of materials accuracy.
• Work with Inventor and AutoCAD to develop and revise engineering designs.
• Apply guidance from senior engineers and draughtsmen to refine design concepts and ensure technical accuracy.
• Maintain organised drawing libraries and revision records in line with company standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure correct design integration.
• Adhere to internal and industry drawing and documentation standards.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• N4–N6 or Diploma in Mechanical Draughting (or equivalent).
• 2–5 years’ experience in a draughting role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment (graduates with strong technical aptitude may be considered).
• Proficiency in Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and fabrication methods.
• Exposure to or familiarity with industry design codes (ASME, SANS, EN) advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines.
