Accenture is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and monitor DB2 for z/OS mainframe environments across multiple teams and clients.

• Administer, optimize, monitor, and fine‑tune DB2 databases on z/OS.
• Design, implement, and maintain new database structures, backup/recovery, and configuration management.
• Install and configure DB2 Database Management Systems (DBMS) and modify procedures and documentation for problem resolution and day‑to‑day maintenance.
• Engage with cross‑functional teams, contribute to key decisions, and provide solutions to problems for immediate and multiple teams.
• Develop and implement innovative strategies for optimizing database performance and tuning; conduct regular performance monitoring and analysis to identify improvement areas.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members on database‑related issues.
• Monitoring of production reports to ensure scheduled reports do not exceed execution time and improve throughput on the BAS system.
• Assist with Release Management functionality, Database Quality Assurance, and review of all SQL code for programs destined for production.
• Respond to any DB2/CICS/VSAM problems experienced by production departments, performing standby duty as required.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as DB2 DBA in an IBM z/OS environment.
• Working knowledge of Mainframe (MVS), DB2 for z/OS, Windows operating systems, SQL, CICS, and JCL.
• Batch operations and MVS architectures.
• z/OS DB2 DBA Certification.
• Advanced proficiency in IBM z/OS, database optimization & tuning, and database performance management; intermediate proficiency in IBM Db2 Query Management Facility (QMF) and Job Control Language (JCL).
• Preferred skills:
• DB2 v11, v12, or v13 certification; DB2 Query Monitor for z/OS; DB2 SQL Performance Analyzer; OPTIM query Workload Tuner; DB2 Administrator Tool for z/OS; DB2 Log Analysis Tool for z/OS; QMF for workstations; QMF for z/OS; CICS DBUG Tool; TMON; IDZ; SQL and/Rexx coding to automate routing tasks.
