• Operating SQL database platform
• Actively troubleshooting any issues impacting the environments as well as analysing error logs
• Analysing queries and advising on efficiency and improvements
• Identifying and resolving database locks and lack of statistics, resolving data structure issues, i.e. invalid objects, tables, partitions, constraints, and performing deploy patches as required
• Creating and maintaining SOPs
• Collaborating with DBAs, developers, vendors, and professionals to deliver quality service
• Performing as a subject matter expert for database implementations
• Automating operational processes as needed, with accuracy and in compliance with security requirements
• Providing service delivery in a timely and efficient manner
• Ensuring continuous support is provided
• Working with Incident Management, other support groups, and vendors to provide seamless support to customers
• Participating in project work as assigned

• Grade 12
• Formal IT qualification (National Diploma / Certificate, Comp Tia, Microsoft or similar certification) or currently studying towards completing a Degree / Diploma or Certificate in IT
• ITIL v3 Foundation
• Microsoft Azure and Office
• Own car and Driver's License essential
• MCSA : SQL Servers onwards
• 5+ years' experience with MSSQL and PLSQL
• Sound knowledge of ITIL and SDLC
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently
• Expert knowledge of MSSQL from onwards
• Experience in MSSQL manager, performing SQL queries, and log management
• Experience with scripting and automation (Shell / Bash / Power Shell / PL / SQL / SQL / DBMS jobs)
