The ideal candidate should have excellent problem solving ability and programming skills in Java, with an affinity for architecting and development of solutions to customer requirements. The ideal candidate will be able to contextualise business requirements, take ownership and responsibility for tasks assigned, contribute to design sessions, complete development within time deadlines and budget, delivering quality work with minimal rework.

• Basic knowledge in E/E (control units, diagnosis, vehicle electrical system access)
• Knowledge and passion for development of complex, robust and production‑critical IT software systems, located in plant dedicated DC’s or Edge DC’s and in public cloud
• Experience with VM and cloud software development cloud
• Proficiency in network, distributed and concurrent programming
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills, including load testing capabilities
• Experience as a Java full‑stack software developer
• Excellent programming skills in Java, Java GUI, Java Web techniques / Angular / JavaScript / REST, Micro Profile, Spring Framework and the Quarkus Framework
• Very good programming skills with web technologies (Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Python
• Proficiency in using Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
• Excellent and experienced knowledge in Cloud technologies (Azure cloud architecture, Quarkus, IaC, Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Networking, Cloud Security, Mongo
  
  DB)
• Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience of enterprise IT operations and support of production‑critical applications and systems
• Experience in agile software development, CI/CD using Maven, Gradle, JUnit and Sonar Qube
• Experience in agile software Project Management (Scrum, Jira)
• Experience with the tools:

• Experience in IT security, especially in developing secure cloud applications and general network security
• Experience with Splunk Enterprise development and configuration. Splunk certification is advantageous
• Experience in Ticket‑Reporting Systems (e.g. ITIL)
• Innovative & Independent with good problem‑solving skills
• B.Sc IT / Computer Science or equivalent. Honours Advantageous
• 5+ years development on Java‑based solutions
• Exposure and experience within other development languages and platforms, specifically Java and knowledge of cloud technologies, as well as knowledge of development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc)
• Experience in both front end and back end development
• Any experience in the automotive industry is useful
• Any experience with integration tools is useful
• Gauteng‑based, with head office at Waterfall Corporate Campus
• Willing to travel to clients with own car
