We are currently looking for a  RES & BESS Energy Trading Analyst  to join our RES & Storage Asset Optimization, part of our Energy Division based in  Milan, Italy

Scope of the role
The role focuses on optimizing Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across all relevant power markets. By leveraging data analysis, market expertise, and operational insights, the position enhances asset value through robust analytical models that improve trading performance.

Key Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive trading strategies for RES and BESS assets across Day Ahead, Intraday, and Balancing markets.

Support the daily operational activities of the RES & Storage Assets Optimization unit.

Assist in designing and deploying data‑driven signal generation systems and algorithmic market strategies.

Serve as a key liaison with official entities including Terna, GME, and other regulatory or operational stakeholders.

Analyze data from various market sources to extract insights and generate actionable market analysis reports.

Accuracy and efficiency of trading decisions impacting RES and BESS portfolio performance.

Delivery of high‑quality analytical models that enhance operational and trading workflows.

Proactively identifying operational risks and opportunities resulting from regulatory changes.

Core Competencies

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and a continuous learning mindset.

Inclination towards team working.

Able to work under time pressure, dealing with large amount of data.

Knowledge and Experience

More than 3 years of experience in power markets; familiarity with short‑term markets (Intraday, Balancing) is considered a strong plus.

Proven capability in time series analysis, development of analytical models and performance monitoring tools.

Experience in the Italian Electricity Market and its regulatory framework.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field. Postgraduate studies in AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science considered a plus.

Strong technical proficiency in Python, SQL and data analysis workflows.
