Responsibilities
- Prepare and/or oversee the definition of system requirements, develop specifications and prepare complex, business‑critical engineering designs.
- Develop, maintain and control the technical interface to customers, suppliers and collaborators to ensure effective and swift resolution of technical issues and to deliver contractual commitments.
- Ensure that designs consider Design Safety, Design for Manufacture assembly, dis‑assembly and end‑of‑life processing, Design to cost, and Design for reliability and maintainability.
- Validate any systems/equipment, including generation of test schedules, test and integration plans, and writing/investigation of test problem reports.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to discuss technical issues and resolve problems.
- Degree‑level education in a relevant engineering discipline with a demonstrated background within an engineering environment.
- Experience with Systems Engineering tools and techniques, including requirements management, product safety and validation and verification techniques.
- Good understanding of mechanical, electrical and software principles and their interfaces.
- Good working knowledge of technical office process standards, standard instructions and drawing standards.
- Knowledge and experience of lifecycle processes and exposure to testing, trials and qualification of designs.
In this role you will be working within the Engineering Function on the Research & Technology team, playing a key role in designing systems for business‑critical projects, including development of new products using novel technologies.
