Data Protection Advisor (Transformation) – 12 month Fixed Term Contract
Hybrid – 3 days in Milton Keynes (with occasional travel to Leighton Buzzard) and 2 days remote.
Role OverviewShape the future of data protection while driving innovation within one of the UK’s largest property services groups.
Responsibilities- Support the Data Protection Officer in delivering expert advice and guidance across the Group.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams – including Technology, Legal, Risk, HR, and external partners – to ensure data protection is built into everything we do.
- Support the operational delivery of the Second‑line data protection compliance framework.
- Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new initiatives and transformation programmes.
- Prepare presentations, reports and materials for meetings and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain and update Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) across Group Companies.
- Support review and improvement of operational data protection processes.
- Assist in data breach management, including initial assessments and documentation.
- Respond to a wide range of data protection queries, including individual rights, marketing and consent.
- Maintain up‑to‑date templates, guidance and documentation.
- Support training and awareness initiatives across the business.
- Assist with third‑party and supplier due diligence.
- Track and monitor remediation actions from compliance reviews.
- Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in a data protection, compliance or privacy‑related role.
- Experience working in a commercial environment (B2C or B2B).
- Understanding of data protection principles and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with data protection operational processes (breach management, rights requests).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex privacy concepts in simple terms.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
