Manufacturing Production Engineer (Milton Keynes)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Engineer to join our friendly team,  role is based at our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes. About the Role

The Production Engineer will support an allocation of existing assembly lines in achieving the current and forecast output volumes. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining production processes and procedures, evaluating, developing, sustaining and providing resources to achieve current and forecast output volumes within their allocated area of responsibility, and will support the manufacture of the Company's existing and new product range by generating effective engineering information, systems and manufacturing processes whilst championing the implementation of a successful Lean Manufacturing culture.

Responsibilities
  • Define and sustain lean space allocation and layout plan for allocated value streams including maintenance and updates of existing CAD layout files.
  • Define and sustain lean step process documents for each value stream process.
  • Define and sustain required lean balanced operations for each allocated value stream.
  • Define, implement, and sustain required lean tools, equipment, and machinery for each operation.
  • Define, provide, and sustain lean manual standard core times for each process step.
  • Maintain VM data (MRP) structures and fields for each product routed to the allocated value stream.
  • Perform and sustain required health and safety requirements for each operation.
  • Review and identify where there is potential for automation to be financially justifiable within the operations for each allocated value stream.
  • Audit process adherence and improvement to remove the seven wastes for each operation.
  • Define, design, and sustain required jig, fixture, lifting, and production aid requirements for each operation through each process flow for each allocated value stream.
  • Provide effective stakeholder meeting support for all allocated areas of responsibility.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven skills, knowledge, experience, and expertise in developing and supporting new and existing production lines and plant equipment.
  • Level 5 qualification in related engineering, or 5 years demonstrable experience.
  • Demonstrated engineering / manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with good negotiation and conflict management skills with proficiency in computers would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma in the manufacturing field (desirable).
  • Formal training in Lean/Six Sigma (desirable).

Working Hours & Salary
  • Working hours for the role are 40 per week (08:00 - 16:30, Monday - Friday).
  • Due to the nature of this role, it is based on‑site 5 days per week.
  • Salary range £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience).
