Mechanical Design Engineer – Milton Keynes

Our niche sector, market‑leading client, established in Milton Keynes since the late 1800s, supplies innovative and unique solutions to more than 150 countries. We are seeking a dynamic and articulate Mechanical Design Engineer to complement our vibrant R&D team.

Reporting to the Design and Development Manager, you will support the global group in all aspects of new product design and development as well as existing product enhancements.

• New Product Development: work closely with the Design and Development Manager to translate product visions, conduct analysis and simulations, prototype, test, and validate new product designs.
• Custom Project Support: collaborate with internal stakeholders, conduct feasibility studies, develop conceptual and detailed designs in Solid Works, create and review engineering drawings and documentation.
• Project Design Management: track project progress, identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, provide detailed solution specifications, 3D CAD models, production drawings, assemblies, BOMs and test data.

At least 3 years Mechanical Engineering design experience, proven projects from concept to delivery, comprehensive skills in Solid Works, attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities. Knowledge of manufacturing processes (plastic moulding, CNC machining, casting, sheet metal forming) and experience with system design interfacing to electrical and control are advantageous.
