Talent Manager, HR Manager
Ready to lead HR at one of the UK’s largest food distribution sites? Do you have the confidence to advise managers and shape culture? Can you lead a team to deliver a first-class HR and payroll service?
Here at GXO, we’re looking for a proactive and confident HR Advisor to join our M&S distribution site in Milton Keynes. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering the People Agenda. Reporting to the HR Manager, you’ll lead a small HR team and provide expert advice to managers and employees, ensuring compliance, engagement, and operational excellence.
This is a full-time, 12-month Fixed-Term position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 08:00 till 16:00. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!

Whatyou’ll do on a typical day:
- Support talent development, succession planning, and performance management
- Build strong relationships with trade unions and stakeholders
- Manage absence and performance issues, supporting managers with coaching and guidance
- Promote engagement, health & wellbeing initiatives, and a positive site culture
- Lead payroll activities, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of queries
- Drive recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes
- CIPD Level 3 qualified or willing to study towards this
- Experience in HR & Payroll within a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of ER issues, recruitment, and payroll cycles
- Experience leading a small HR team and advising managers
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with pace and flexibility
