Senior Platform Engineer

We’re looking for a hands‑on Senior Platform Engineer to join our client’s technology team and help build, scale, and support a modern internal platform that empowers our engineering teams to deliver and operate their services effectively.

Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid – 1–2 days in office)

• Build, enhance, and maintain a modern platform used by multiple engineering teams
• Operate within a “you build it, you run it” culture, coding daily and scaling yourself through others
• Collaborate with site reliability, architecture, onboarding, and delivery teams to ensure a reliable, scalable platform
• Promote automation and platform engineering best practices across the organisation
• Upskill team members and contribute to hiring to fill skill gaps

• Strong hands‑on experience with Terraform (syntax, modules, state, work spaces, backend configuration)
• Deep understanding of the Azure Terraform provider, including limitations and best practices
• Integrating Terraform into CI/CD pipelines (Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions, etc.)
• Familiarity with ARM templates and Azure resource lifecycle management

• Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of core Azure services (VNets, VMs, Storage, App Services, etc.)
• Hands‑on with Azure AD, RBAC, Key Vault, and cloud security best practices
• Skilled in automation using Power Shell, Azure CLI, and Bash

• Proficient with Git workflows (branching, merging, pull requests)
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, or Git Hub Actions
• Understanding of cloud networking concepts (VNets, subnets, NSGs)
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices
• Experience optimizing cloud spend and resource efficiency
