This position is a key role for receiving department for the production facility of a world-class manufacturer of custom equipment
Job Summary:
The Receiver/Material Handler is a crucial warehouse role focused on managing incoming goods: receiving, inspecting, and verifying shipments against orders, using equipment like forklifts to move and store items, updating inventory systems (like SAP/ERP), organizing the warehouse, and ensuring materials are ready for production, all while following strict safety protocols. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a team and strengthen valuable skills including organization, communication, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Checks import or export documentation to determine cargo contents and use tariff coding system to classify goods according to fee or tariff group.
- Examines materials and contents and compares with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
- Ensuring timely, accurate and efficient management of the stock receipt process and cycle count process to achieve target inventory accuracy.
- Ensure materials are checked against vendors’ invoice/packing list, bills of lading, customer supplied orders, PO requirements, damages.
- Ensure Subcon process is followed.
- Ensure internal and external flow of material is maintained and accurate.
- Follow customer return process.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve issues throughout resolution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, including safety, 5S, and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Physical:
- Sitting, Standing, and Walking.
- Carrying, Stooping, Lifting and Reaching.
- Lifting Requirements:
Up to 50 pounds.
- Attention to detail
- The use of the English language, both Oral and Written.
- Requires daily communication with multiple departments to ensure maximum efficiency
- Basic Math
- Previous Certification Forklift and Overhead Crane
- Working knowledge of ERP system
- Proficiency in Microsoft office
- 5S and lean manufacturing
- 3+ years of experience in or working with manufacturing operations
- 3+ years of experience in a receiver / material handler role
- 2+ years of experience with ERP system
- 2+ years of experience with external Logistics websites (Fed Ex, UPS, Purolator)
- Exceptional communication and technical skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter who takes initiative and maintains excellent follow-through and follow-up.
- Perform well in a fast-paced environment and can multitask with ease.
Hours of operation: 10:00am to 6:30pm
