We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Operations Supervisor – Supply Chain & Production for one of our valued clients in the manufacturing sector. Position Summary
The Plant Operations Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations of the production floor and support the coordination of supply chain activities within a food manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands the flow between production and supply chain and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production activities, ensuring smooth scheduling, inventory control, and workflow coordination
- Support alignment of supply chain operations with production schedules to maintain optimal material availability and workflow
- Lead and mentor frontline staff including operators, technicians, and material handlers
- Monitor KPIs related to output, efficiency, and inventory accuracy
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and quality standards
- Work closely with plant management and supply chain teams to resolve issues and streamline operations
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste and increasing throughput
- Assist with coordinating incoming materials, production resources, and outbound logistics
- Support training and development of production staff to promote cross-functional capabilities
Qualifications
- 6–7 years of supervisory or lead hand experience in a manufacturing or food production environment
- Strong knowledge of production operations, supply chain coordination, and inventory control
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar improvement methodologies
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Post-secondary education in Operations, Supply Chain, or a related technical field is an asset
