Mission is located on the unceded, ancestral, and shared territory of the Stó:lō Peoples, specifically on Leq’á:mel, Semá:th, Máthexwi, Kwantlen, Sq’éwlets, and Katzie traditional territories in the lower mainland of BC. Job Description
You will perform a variety of tasks related to municipal buildings and facilities including installing and maintaining ice, operating resurfacing and other related equipment, operating the arena refrigeration plant, performing minor maintenance and repair of machines, pumps and filters, performing minor construction, renovation and maintenance of municipal buildings, ensuring building security and performing janitorial and custodial functions for the ice arena, curling rink, swimming pool area, public and multi‑purpose areas.

You must have the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school graduate (or equivalent)
• Valid refrigeration operator (RO) certificate of qualification
• Building service worker (BSW) certificate
• Level 1 First Aid certificate
• Valid Class 5 BC drivers’ license
• Pool Operator Level 1 and 2 certifications (asset)
• Negative Police Information Check

Additional Information
The 2025 hourly rate of pay for a Facility Maintenance Worker 1‑3 is between $33.53 - $35.84 plus 4.4% in lieu of all benefits increasing to 12.4% upon completion of the probationary period. Auxiliary employees must be flexible and available to work on short notice both day and afternoon shifts including weekends. Employees working the afternoon shift receive a 6% shift premium.

Auxiliary work assignments vary from one day to three months and auxiliary employees have no guarantee of regular shifts.
