Fraser Health Authority is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team.
SalaryThe salary range for this position is CAD $32.84 - $44.96 per hour.
Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations or designate, the LPN performs assessments, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care within the competency guidelines and full scope of practice outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). This role follows FHA policies, unit protocols, and agency operating standards.
Responsibilities- Assesses patient, resident, or family strengths and limitations, including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Provides a supportive environment, promotes patient/family involvement in health care decisions, offers information, and respects personal choices.
- Contributes to individualized care plans and attends multidisciplinary care planning meetings and family conferences.
- Provides nursing care according to policies, procedures, technology, and FHA standards, evaluating outcomes and recording observations.
- Performs admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients or residents according to agency policies.
- Documents and updates all relevant care and procedure information to ensure safety and comfort.
- Operates and maintains equipment related to patient care such as bathtubs, scales, and mechanical lifts.
- Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Assists in the orientation of new staff, students, and other team members.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement, education sessions, team conferences, meetings, and committees.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Graduate of a recognized practical nursing program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Skills and Abilities:
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Organizes work and implements a plan of care.
- Knowledge of competencies to work at full scope, including medication administration.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out job duties.
