We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager for one of our valued clients in the food manufacturing sector. This is a great opportunity to lead end-to-end plant operations, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of safety, productivity, and team collaboration.
Position SummaryThe Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of the food processing and packaging facility, including production, staffing, safety, maintenance, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep operational knowledge and a passion for team development and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage daily plant operations including production, scheduling, inventory, and maintenance
Achieve production goals while maintaining high safety, quality, and efficiency standards
Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of supervisors, operators, and technicians
Monitor and analyze KPIs to drive performance and continuous improvement
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
Oversee vendor and supplier relationships as necessary
Establish and maintain effective training and development programs for plant staff
Minimum 7-10 years of plant or operations management experience in a manufacturing environment (food/bakery/meat experience preferred)
Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building skills
Deep understanding of production processes, safety regulations, and quality systems
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field is an asset
Competitive wage: $65.00–$70.00/hour based on experience
