We’re looking for an experienced Laser Cutter Operator to join our client’s production team. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of experience operating laser machines, reading technical drawings, and inspecting finished parts. This role plays a key part in maintaining production quality, ensuring safe machine operation, and supporting overall workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and operate laser cutting machines according to job specifications and blueprints
- Load/unload materials and monitor the cutting process to ensure quality output
- Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning lenses and nozzles
- Inspect cut parts for accuracy, tolerances, and quality using measuring tools (calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Optimize cutting paths and adjust settings (speed, power, gas flow) as needed
- Maintain accurate records of production, materials used, and machine operation
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures, wearing appropriate PPE
- 2–3 years of experience operating a laser cutter (e.g., CO₂ or fiber laser) in a manufacturing or fabrication setting
- Experience with materials such as sheet metal, aluminum, or plastics
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and cut files
- Familiarity with CNC or laser cutting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works, or related CAM tools)
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Experience with Amada, Trumpf, or Bystronic laser machines
- Knowledge of nesting software or CNC programming
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing
