Legal Assistant - Private Client, Family & Dispute Resolution

TSR Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected law firm located in the Forest of Dean region. The firm is seeking Legal Assistants to join its busy and supportive teams across several departments at the Monmouth office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for organised and professional individuals to build or continue a career within the legal sector, working in a firm known for its client-focused ethos and high standards of legal care. Opportunities are currently available in the following departments:

  • Private Client - supporting fee earners with matters such as Wills, Probate, and Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Family - assisting with divorce, financial settlements, cohabitation issues, and child arrangements
  • Dispute Resolution - working on cases involving contractual disputes, property litigation, debt recovery, and general civil litigation

While prior experience in these areas is advantageous, full training will be provided for the right candidates.

The Role:

The successful candidates will provide legal and administrative support to fee earners within their respective departments. Duties may include:

  • Providing secretarial and administrative support including telephone liaison, preparing correspondence, and drafting attendance notes
  • Assisting with the preparation and management of documents relevant to the department's caseload
  • Supporting the client onboarding process, including compliance checks
  • Managing client files and updating case management systems
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards
Candidate Profile:

  • Are well organised, methodical, and efficient in their working practices
  • Remain composed and professional under pressure
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally
  • Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Possess strong IT skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Are self‑motivated with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Are committed to providing a high level of client service and maintaining the firm's excellent reputation
