Location:
Cwmfelinfach, Newport.
Salary: £43,000 per annum
Shifts:
3-shift rotation (Mornings / Afternoons / Nights)
Industry: FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods)
Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking FMCG manufacturer in Newport? This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment in a fast-paced production environment, where your skills will directly contribute to keeping operations running smoothly.
The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be part of a skilled engineering team responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of all production machinery. You'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement projects to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on production and packaging machinery
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults quickly and safely
Support production teams to maintain smooth running of equipment
Participate in continuous improvement and reliability projects
Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards
About You
Time-served or qualified engineer (HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering)
Previous experience in an FMCG, food, or high-speed manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills
Knowledge of PLCs, conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics desirable
A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills
