Job Description
The CAD Designer will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. They will be responsible to design jigs and fixtures to be used in welding (manual and robotic), assembly and inspection for a variety of products. The CAD Designer will be supervised by our Method Specialist and will be responsible for component selection, cost validation, design for manufacturability, drawing creation, as well as routing release.
The CAD Designer will also support the Manufacturing and Quality teams during the building and validation of their jigs and fixtures.
Role and responsibilities
- Ensure items are designed and built to meet product specifications.
- Create and validate jig and fixture designs in Solid Works.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings using Solid Works.
- Selecting components and materials to meet the design requirements.
- Prepare bills of materials.
- Work with internal stakeholders to review and improve designs.
- Support Production to troubleshoot assembly and fabrication problems.
- Participate in team brainstorming sessions.
- Work in alignment with CMP processes and assist in developing them further.
- All other related tasks are considered part of the role and may be assigned as needed.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Proficient with Works with a minimum of 3 years of design experience.
- Technical aptitude with hands‑on approach to engineering.
- Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing practices.
- Knowledge of electro‑mechanical systems.
- Experience with weldments and sheet metal are essential.
- Understanding of Geometric Tolerancing & Dimensioning (GD&T).
- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent time management skills, able to manage competing priorities.
- Master the French and English language (customers from the United States).
