Location: Montreal

Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of our accounting operations and payroll. You will ensure the reliability of financial information, compliance with internal controls, and actively collaborate in the preparation of periodic financial statements. You will also provide guidance to junior members of the accounting team. You will gain a complete understanding of the company’s accounting cycle through this role.

As a Senior Accountant at Spiria, you will be required to:

  • Perform the full accounting cycle: journal entries, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable and payable, fixed assets, payroll;
  • Prepare month-end journal entries;
  • Ensure the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and review of ledgers;
  • Validate payroll through ADP and review payroll remittances;
  • Process vendor payments;
  • Analyze variances;
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual audit file;
  • Perform bank reconciliations;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes, departmental efficiency, and the maintenance of internal controls.
  • The keys to your success

  • University degree in Accounting;
  • CPA designation obtained or in progress (a strong asset, but not mandatory with 8–10 years of solid accounting experience);
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in an SME environment;
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and the accounting cycle, ensuring reliable and compliant financial information;
  • Expertise in ERP optimization and digital tools, including process automation;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset;
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously with accuracy and autonomy;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal skills and clear communication.
  • Employment details:

  • During the probation period, in-office presence is required.
  • A flexible (hybrid) work arrangement will be available after the probation period.
  • Salary range based on experience: between $80,000 and $110,000, based on a work week.
