Location: MontrealOur valued client is looking for a Sr. Automation QA Analyst to support end-to-end testing using Playwright for a business transformation program -
This position can be based in Ottawa, Montreal, or Toronto (hybrid with 4 days/month on-site)
Tasks include:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and other QA professionals, to design, develop, implement, and execute automated test scripts, focusing on validating the functionality of applications, identifying defects, and contributing to the overall improvement of our software development processesDesign, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks for APIs, Platform, and UI software componentsCreate and execute test cases for functional, regression, integration, API testing and performance testingDevelop automated tests and integrate them into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelineParticipate in test planning sessions to define test scope, objectives, and acceptance criteriaIdentify areas suitable for automation and prioritize test cases for automationPromote a shift-left testing culture and help teams apply the test pyramid effectivelyDevelop and maintain test data and test environmentsDocument defects clearly, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual outcomesWork closely with development teams to ensure timely defect resolutionExecute automated test suites as part of each software release cycleInvestigate and troubleshoot test failuresContribute to the overall quality assurance strategyThe Software Developer in Test may have to execute manual test scripts where automation is not an optionMust have:
Reliability clearanceUndergraduate degree in a related field, such as computer science, software engineering, or business administrationExperience using Playwright test automation softwareExperience with end-to-end (E2E) testingKnowledge of scripting language such as JavaScript or TypescriptExperience with API testing (such as with Postman)Experience functional, regression, and performance testingExperience in accessibility testing and knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA standardsNice to have:
Experience with unit testing tools, such as JestKnowledge of testing best practices and shift-left testing practicesKnowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture is an asset.Knowledge of testing techniques such as UI component test, contract testing and test containers is an assetExperience with Azure Cloud platform and Azure Dev Ops is an asset
