Intellectual Property Lawyer; Trademarks

Our client, an international law firm, is seeking an Intellectual Property Lawyer (Trademarks) to join its Montreal office. With a strong reputation for excellence, this firm brings together lawyers, patent agents, and trademark agents among the most respected in the country, operating at the intersection of law, business, and technology.

In this role, you will support a diverse clientele in the registration, protection, enforcement and commercialization of their trademarks, while acting as a strategic advisor. You will evolve in a human, dynamic and collaborative environment where continuous training and professional development tailored to your growth are encouraged.

• Act as strategic advisor
• Manage examination, opposition and appeal proceedings
• Monitor and renew clients’ trademark portfolios
• Draft and negotiate license, assignment, coexistence or distribution agreements
• Ensure contractual protection of intellectual property rights in commercial agreements

• 2 to 6 years of experience in trademark law
• Strong knowledge of registration processes and administrative procedures before CIPO and the Trademarks Opposition Board
• Intellectual rigor and curiosity
• Member in good standing of the Québec Bar
• Excellent command of French and English, spoken and written
