Use SCADA, Maximo, eRIS, and analytical tools to support York Region’s water and wastewater operations remotely. Work independently across rotating 12-hour shifts.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Remote Operations, this position monitors system performance and operational conditions. You will follow documented workflows, coordinate emergency dispatches through computerized work management systems, and communicate abnormalities to support staff. The role also supports storage, quality, pumping, odour control, and asset reliability requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Leverage SCADA, eRIS, Maximo, and alarm dialers
Coordinate CWMS use for emergency dispatched operators
Follow standard operating procedures and operational job plans
Communicate technology and system abnormalities appropriately
Monitor storage, quality, pumping, and asset reliability
Requirements:
Knowledge of water and wastewater operational systems
Understanding of hydraulics, reservoirs, supply, and conveyance
Experience using SCADA systems in water or wastewater
Computer proficiency with spreadsheet and database programs
Ability to analyze problems and respond effectively to emergencies
Bring SCADA expertise, operational analysis, and technology skills to York Region’s remote water and wastewater control environment.
