About the role
About the Galaxy Team:
The Galaxy Team is a cross-functional unit that collaborates with various product teams, playing a central role in coordinating and implementing major initiatives. We are looking for a passionate and talented Lead Android Developer to join our team, with the mission of contributing to ambitious projects in close collaboration with different teams and stakeholders.
What you'll do here:
Collaborate with design, product, and other development teams to define, design, and implement cross-functional initiatives.
Organize and participate in technical workshops with tech leaders to review enablers and identify high-impact initiatives.
Create and maintain templates for enablers to standardize and simplify processes.
Clearly identify the benefits of each initiative undertaken, using surveys or specific metrics such as Pull Request (PR) processing time.
Track and analyze other performance indicators, like the time saved by developers each day.
Present the team's achievements every quarter during the Design Product Vision Presentations (DPVP) and provide updates during mobile leadership meetings.
Work closely with product teams to ensure initiatives are well integrated and processes are seamless.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain a high level of code quality.
Stay up-to-date with new Android technologies and industry trends to ensure our applications remain at the forefront of innovation.
What you bring to the table:
Proven professional experience in Android development (at least 5 years).
Proficiency in Kotlin.
Good knowledge of prevalent Android frameworks such as Jetpack Compose, Dagger (or Hilt or Koin), Coroutines, etc.
Good understanding of design principles and best practices for mobile development.
Mastery of Android development tools such as Android Studio.
Ability to write clean, readable, and well-documented code.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Ability to bring together divergent ideas and achieve consensus.
Skill in organizing and facilitating collaborative workshops.
Skill in data analysis and performance measurement.
Bilinguism required (FR-EN) - For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
Additional Assets:
Experience with backend services and RESTful and Graph
QL APIs.
Knowledge of source code management tools such as Git.
Experience with unit testing and automated testing frameworks.
Active participation in the developer community.
Experience with CI/CD, including Bitrise and Fastlane.
Knowledge of the application distribution stages (certificates, etc.).
