JOB DESCRIPTION
The work consists of preparing and giving various aquatic courses to teach swimming safety measures.
EXAMPLES OF TASKS PERFORMED
- Prepares and gives various Swim for life program courses and/or Lifesaving Society training courses.
- Keeps watch over the pool during public swimming, lessons and the various courses.
- Keeps watch over the municipal and Dakin Park wading pools when in use.
- Pays special attention to preventing accidents and performs aquatic lifesaving when the situation requires.
- Works as part of the team to ensure the premises are clean.
- Takes part in special activities.
- Provides impeccable customer service at all times.
- Performs any other related tasks.
SCOPE
The employee is usually required to prioritize their daily activities. The work is occasionally checked during the realization and verified regularly.
REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Certificates of competence :
- Mandatory for monitors teaching the Swim for life program :
- National Lifeguard;
- Life saving society Swim instructor;
- Lifesaving and CPR/AED.
Experience :
- Experience at public or private pools (a plus).
Optional (in order of preference) :
- Aquatic Emergency Care;
- Other relevant aquatic training (e.g. coaching certificate).
REQUIREMENTS
- Bilingual*;
- Passing grade on the admission examination (physical and written tests);
- Strong public relations skills.
* Knowledge of English is a requirement due to possible interactions with the Town’s residents.
Term of employment:
- From April to the end of September 2026.
Mandatory training sessions:
- Attendance at training courses is mandatory.
- The schedule will be submitted at the end of April.
